 WHICH FOODS ARE SAFE?

There are thousands of packaged and fresh food products that don't contain RTNCs.  Many grocery stores and supermarkets carry brands that don't have RTNCs, but you'll have to look for them.  Read the ingredient labels and make your purchases carefully.

You might also consider shopping at health food stores and gourmet supermarkets, although those stores sell plenty of products with RTNCs, too.  The only way to determine if a product contains RTNCs is to read its ingredient label.

Naturally, eating plain foods, organic fruits and vegetables, additive-free meats, and other non-processed, wholesome, 100% natural foods is a good idea for everyone.  And, choosing products that are free of chemicals, additives, and other questionable ingredients makes great sense, too.

Finding foods without RTNCs is becoming easier every day, as the public becomes more aware of these hazardous chemicals.  But until consumers stop buying these processed foods, and demand a radical change in food labeling rules and ingredient regulations, RTNCs are here to stay.

 THE RTNC-FREE INITIATIVE

RTNC411.org
is currently developing a new consumer information initiative called The "RTNC-FREE" Certification Program.

RTNC-FREE CERTIFICATION SEAL

In cooperation with American food manufacturers, RTNC411.org will be officially identifying food products which do not contain any RTNC ingredients.  These specific products will be allowed to carry the official "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seal on their package label.

Someday, people will be able to shop for RTNC-free foods by simply looking for the "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seal of approval.

 RTNC-FREE CERTIFICATION

There is no charge for the
"RTNC-FREE" Certification Seal endorsement, but food manufacturers must adhere to strict rules and guidelines to obtain and display the "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seal.

  • "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seals are designated individually for specific food products which absolutely do not contain any RTNC ingredients.

  • "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seals are non-transferable between products, product lines, brands, or companies.  Only a specifically certified product may bear its "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seal.

  • The "RTNC-FREE" Certification is based solely on the ingredient list information provided in good faith by the food product manufacturer, and RTNC411.org and the "RTNC-FREE" Certification Program make no guarantee or claim as to the accuracy of the ingredients listed for any certified product.

  • Products must be re-certified by RTNC411.org every 18-months, and whenever packaging is altered or when ingredients are changed.

  • Any "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seal may be revoked at any time if RTNC ingredients are discovered in, or added to, a previously approved food product.  Such revocation will require the mandatory  immediate recall (at the manufacturer's sole expense) of any food products, packaging, and advertising bearing the revoked seal.

  • Use and display of the "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seal is controlled solely its owners, RTNC411.org.  Accept no substitutes.  Please report any fraudulent claims to RTNC411.org immediately.

  • Other restrictions may apply.

If you would like to apply for an "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seal for your food/beverage product label, please follow these instructions.

  • Visit our CONTACT US page to obtain our email address.

  • Send us an email requesting "RTNC-FREE" Certification for your product.  Be sure to provide detailed product information, including product name, ingredient list, UPC code, and package size/format.

  • Attach scanned images of your product's current packaging, graphics, artwork, and/or labeling, including the actual printed ingredient list.

  • Provide your title and complete contact information.

  • RTNC411.org will respond to your inquiry within 14 days.

If your product receives official approval from RTNC411.org, you will be permitted to use the "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seal logos on your packaging and advertisements.  We will also add your product to our list of approved "RTNC-FREE" foods posted at RTNC411.org.

RTNC-FREE CERTIFICATION SEAL

With the support of food manufacturers, retailers, and consumers, we hope that the "RTNC-FREE" Certification Seal Program initiative will finally make it easier for RTNC-sensitive people to shop, eat healthy, and live better lives.

 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I be expected to read every label ?

Reading the ingredient labels at the grocery store may seem like a hassle, but with a little practice, it will become second nature to you.

You will quickly become familiar with the list of common RTNCs, and you'll learn to recognize them easily.  They'll practically jump out at you from the label!

Looking for RTNCs on an ingredient label adds less than 10-seconds to your shopping time.  Isn't it worth that little extra time to protect you and your family from hazardous chemical ingredients?

If you don't read the ingredient labels of every food you eat, you are putting you and your family at risk.  You are willingly eating poison.  You're handing a loaded gun to the food manufacturing industry, and asking them to put a bullet in your brain.

Read the label; it may save your life!

If these chemicals are so dangerous, why
does the F.D.A. allow manufacturers to
include RTNCs in our foods ?

Unfortunately, the food industry is controlled by powerful corporations which have great political influence over the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and other government regulatory agencies.  Obviously, it is in the best interest of the food manufacturers to defend their use of RTNCs, since these inexpensive chemicals make their products delicious and habit-forming.  As in the tobacco industry, the manufacturers who use RTNCs will stop at nothing to make a buck, regardless of the health costs.

Until consumers demand a radical change in food labeling rules and ingredient regulations, and until consumers stop buying these processed foods, RTNCs are here to stay.
